Youth and Family
Messy Church at St Petri
HoOt or ‘Happy Together’ is a playgroup for younger children and their mums and dads, which meets every second Friday morning at 9.30am during the school terms, in the St Petri Hall.
Here is a copy to download of the HoOt Playgroup 2020 programme.
The parents and helpers at HoOt desire to share and celebrate Jesus’ love and hope with little ones, through opportunities for babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers and their caregivers to spend time together in educational, fun and play orientated experiences.
Kids Connect is on Sunday morning during worship. It is an opportunity for primary school age children to share in bible stories about Jesus, enjoying a time of ‘creative response’ through fun, hands-on activities.
Pre-school age children are most welcome to attend with their parent/caregiver. Kids Connect will be held throughout school term during the Sunday morning worship services.
This Is The Feast
Every year we offer families with children aged around 9-11 years old the opportunity to prepare for being welcomed into Holy Communion.
This group goes for 5 weeks and parents are required to be in the sessions with their child. The sessions usually run after school on a weekday for about 45 minutes.
Next intake will be when there is a minimum of 3 children seeking Holy Communion. Please contact St Petri Office to enrol your child.
Confirmation Journey is a journey is centered on young people in years 8-10.
Parents partner with us and their children in talking about faith by digital means at home throughout the three term process. For two of the three terms we gather the teenagers weekly for group learning and relationship building.
We begin in the last term of Year 8 and complete the journey at the end of term 2 in Year 9. For term 1 and 2 of year 9, we gather weekly from 4.00-5.15 on a week day chosen by all families and staff involved.
Learning is based on the Bible and Luther’s Small Catechism and done in ways that connect with kids.
We also work with other churches and organisations to involve young people in faith conversations and relationship building in various ways.
