Today we hear about that tax collector – Matthew.  Jesus does a mercy act of calling him and then deals with the eyebrow raising it caused.  Imagine the surprise and sense of joy this would have been for Matthew and the hope that gave others like him.  Jesus reveals the heart of God.  May we know his heart of love and mercy for us!
