A CALL FOR ST PETRI TO PRAY
Lord, help us to resolve to know nothing except Christ crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:2
Lord, make us your people through whom others come to believe in Jesus. 1 Corinthians 3:5b
Good and gracious God, all that we are and all that we have comes from you. We praise you for calling and sending us into your mission in the world with this great generosity and guidance.
We enter a new time our 150 year old story. We seek your wisdom and guidance, so that by your Holy Spirit, we may discern your calling afresh and ready ourselves for your preferred future for us.
In your love, send your Holy Spirit to your people. At this time open the minds and hearts of your church to hear and heed your word.
Lead us into a decision that will strengthen us as co-workers in Christ where you have placed us, and bring more good fruit of the gospel into being in our community.
In what we decide, make us a living sign of your grace in Christ, a foretaste of your extravagant compassion, and an instrument of your healing purposes in this community.
Father God, we place ourselves into your hands. Through this season of decision, create in us a new heart, that we may truly know you and worship you faithfully and freely.
Lord Jesus, calm our fears, dispel any bitterness and anxiety. Reconcile us to serving this community in the gospel in Jesus’ name.
Holy Spirit bring us together in holy unity so that we will be of one mind, one spirit in you.
Through this journey of discerning we ask to uncover the Spirit’s way together, and that all decisions be to your great glory. Amen.
Whatever we do together, we do it for God’s glory – 1 Corinthians 10:31.
